A place to get Android software directly from the people who wrote it. Every app here is an ordinary APK: you download it and install it yourself, and nothing sits between you and the file.
There is no account to make, nothing to sign in to, and nothing follows you around the store. You can browse and download without telling us who you are, because there is no reason we need to know.
The exact version and the day it was published. The size of the file. Which version of Android it needs. The checksum, so you can prove the download arrived intact. And the fingerprint of the key that signed it, so you can prove every version came from the same hands.
That last one is the part a store usually keeps to itself. It is published here because it is the only thing that actually links one version of an app to the next, and you should be able to check it rather than take our word.
Android has always allowed it and no phone needs altering. There is a step people get stuck on, so it is written out plainly.
